Today we are meeting up with Charles de Schutter, a sound engineer who has worked with many artists, both in the studio and live. Charles’ latest collaboration is with acclaimed artist -M-, aka Mathieu Chedid, a French superstar with whom he won the Best Show of the Year Award at the recent top French musical award ceremony, Les Victoires de la Musique 2014.

At the recent -M- tour stop in Bercy—France’s largest live venue—Charles took time to give us an in-depth tour of the -M- live show, from how he handles the complex instrumentation and stage setup through his mixing approach and processing choices using the Avid Profile System. He then walks us through how he brings the recorded live tracks back to his studio and shares his approach to mixing the live album with Pro Tools HDX and his favorite plug-ins.
