Bring Your Audience into the Game—Presenting Avid Sports Production Solutions at NAB 2016

By in Graphics Solutions, Shared Storage, Sports Production

Bringing sports fans into the action through broadcasts of some of their most loved sporting events from hockey and basketball to football and horse racing is a goal among leaders in sports production today. We’ve made this an easy goal to achieve with Avid’s leading sports production graphics.

At this year’s NAB Show, we are showcasing our tools and solutions for sports production on the Avid main stage – south hall, booth #SU902 – during the rotating Avid Everywhere demo, “Engage Fans and Get Your Game On.” Make time to attend one of the demos (times below) and learn how to achieve the perfect end-to-end workflow for sports production.

We designed this presentation to give you a thorough overview of our solutions for live and studio sports productions, focusing on how our graphic solutions, combined with the MediaCentral Platform, can help sports broadcasters engage audiences like never before.

What will the presentation cover?

Presenters Chris and Maya focus on Avid’s ultimate sports platform, giving insight into how the Avid MediaCentral Platform offers a complete sports solution, including rich ingest, real-time editing and data driven graphics, and sports enhancements

They will review how easy it is to ingest multiple games simultaneously with the PlayMaker sports video server, which ingests up to six games in parallel—all that can be stored at the same time on PlayMaker and on Avid NEXIS storage. Plus, you’ll get a sneak peek at how you can use PlayMaker for fast turnaround, and create clips and playlists in seconds.

Another key sports production feature Chris and Maya will spotlight is how to quickly access sports clips to create a variety of playlists instantly with Playmaker’s SmartEvents, which enables you to tag clips for that perfect playlist.

A cool bonus is that you can manage all of this content using MediaCentral | UX. For example, you can drag our playlists to Avid Media Composer for post-production editing, distribute the playlists to any platform, and more. You’ll also get a preview of the new Sports Logger, which lets broadcasters use MediaCentral | UX to  log an entire game.

Another solution that the duo presenters will cover are the amazing features of the TD Control video wall. To ensure that viewers remains glued to the screen, TD Control enables a single operator to manage the display of captivating graphics over multiple displays of different sizes, resolutions and aspect ratios. This can be done with the simple click of a button; it’s that easy.
