Creating A Blur Transition in Avid Media Composer

By in Tutorial Thursday, Video Editing

In this tutorial, I’ll show two different ways you can create a blur transition between two shots, each having a slightly different look to them. Then you can decide which works best for your situation!

A blur transition is an excellent alternative to using a basic dissolve from shot to shot in your sequence. But, like most methods in Avid Media Composer, there’s always more than one way to achieve your end result. Whether you’re wanting a quick and easy way to just get the job done, or if you have a bit more time to make it more fluid looking, both techniques will help create a great looking transition that you can add to your editing toolbox.
