When you are editing, it’s often helpful to be able to differentiate clips by their color. Pro Tools will let you color Clips in Tracks, and Clips in the Clip List to any color available in the Color Palette. Coloring clips makes is much easier to visually find the clip you want to work on. It’s great for standard editing tasks, such as defining a verse from a chorus, or guitars from drums. It’s also great when working with loops or creating loops. Use the Default Clip Color options in Preferences, and the tools of the Color Palette to make coloring clips quick and easy.
Color your clips to quickly recognize the kind of content you are working on. Make similar clips a uniform color or have a full rainbow of different colors.
When you trash preferences you will need to reset your color options.
