Join Us in Vegas to Set the Future in Motion at Avid Connect 2016

By in Avid Connect, Avid Customer Association

NAB is fast approaching, which means it’s almost time for Avid Connect! The annual gathering of the Avid Customer Association sees hundreds of industry leaders, established media professionals—from news organizations, post-production houses, and educational facilities—and aspiring professionals meet in person to discuss the latest industry trends and the future of the industry. This year’s event takes place April 16-17 at the Wynn Las Vegas, just before NAB.

This year’s theme is “The Future in Motion”, reminding us that the media community holds the power to shape the future direction of the industry as we enter a new phase of innovation, collaboration and partnership.

Avid founded the Avid Customer Association two-and-a-half years ago to provide strategic leadership to the media industry, collaborate with industry leaders and visionaries, and deepen relationships between Avid and our customers. Since then, the ACA has grown to more than 5,000 members and counting.

Media organizations and developers will share stories about their business transformations with the Avid MediaCentral™ Platform, and what the unprecedented openness and integration of the platform has allowed them to achieve.

Our fantastic line-up of guest speakers includes Paddy Bird, who has edited dozens of prime time documentary, entertainment and reality TV shows including The X Factor, Big Brother and Wife Swap; Martin Hernandez, supervising sound editor and sound designer, who earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on The Revenant, with other credits that include Birdman, and Into the Wild; and Will Files, sound supervisor, sound designer and re-recording mixer who recently worked on Star Wars Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

We’re doing things a bit differently this year in response to feedback from ACA members. Here’s what’s new:

  • Nearly 40 breakout sessions, four times as many as previous years
  • 35+ guest speakers from across the industry from industry thought leaders to Academy Award nominated editors
  • 5 separate tracks catered to attendee interest and backgrounds—from Get Your Career Started and Refine Your Craft to The Business of Media

  • More time for networking
