LANDR has changed the process of mastering, organizing and releasing your music with drag-and-drop simplicity, giving results that rival professional studio work in minutes. This opens up a world of possibilities for producers, integrated seamlessly into the ProTools workflow: LANDR your demos before sharing them, drop in full length DJ mixes or live recordings, make a track on the road and have it mastered in time for your gig the same night. The LANDR Desktop App connects directly with Pro Tools, so that you can instantly master any mixdown you bounce.
LANDR’s unlimited cloud storage means never having to delete a track, and their included distribution services shares tracks to streaming services in a few clicks. LANDR lets you integrate mastering seamlessly into your creative process.
There are, however, a couple things to keep in mind when preparing your mix for LANDR:
Format – To get the most out of LANDR, it’s best to upload your track in a lossless, uncompressed format. Start by exporting your mixdown from Pro Tools in an uncompressed format, like WAV or AIFF.
Bit depth + sample rate – When exporting/bouncing your final mix (also known as a premaster), it’s important to set the bit depth / sample rate as high as possible – 24bit/96kHz or higher is recommended. You can find these settings in the Bounce to Disk dialog in Pro Tools.
Headroom – We recommend leaving at least -6dBFS of headroom in your mix. To do this, you’ll need to lower all of your faders in Pro Tools, so that your master output peaks at -6dBFS.
Once your mix is prepared and exported from Pro Tools, LANDR Mastering is a one-step process.
You just drag and drop your track into LANDR, and that’s it. Everything happens behind the screen, and you’ll receive a professionally mastered track in a few minutes.
“LANDR is incredibly useful for mastering jobs – versatile and responsive – it’s a little miracle.”
—Marius De Vries, Music Director of La La Land, Romeo + Juliet, and Moulin Rouge
Once mastered, distributing your music to streaming platforms is easy, too.
Just click the “Release” button on any track you’ve mastered, or select the New Release option from your track library.
Then it’s just a matter of entering your metadata (like artist and label name, genre, year of composition) and your cover art, and you’re ready to release. LANDR’s release builder has comprehensive information and resources to help you create your album, single or EP the right way. Once released, LANDR gets your tracks onto streaming platforms within 1-3 days, and you keep 100% of your rights and revenue.
To withdraw your royalties once they’re accumulated, just visit the My Money page and connect your PayPal account.
