The growth of the Avid Customer Association (ACA) has been phenomenal. In the space of just a few years it has grown to well over 20,000 members and as a result Avid Connect (the annual gathering of the ACA just prior to NAB) has become a focal point for possibly the world’s most influential and innovative community of media professionals.
This year the ACA is celebrating its 5th Avid Connect, hosted in the same venue as last year, the Wynn Las Vegas (April 6-8). As the event grows, so it evolves, with feedback from an ever-increasing – and enthusiastic – membership. A jam-packed agenda has been streamlined for two distinct groups: those engaged in the business of media, and those responsible for the creation of media.
For the former group, managing digital disruption will be the theme that runs through many of the sessions. Digital transformation has its challenges, but it also brings opportunities too, and there will be the chance to discover how industry innovators are leveraging new technology and business dynamics to build a competitive advantage.
For creative professionals – both audio and video – it’s an opportunity to learn how fellow peers tell great stories and to get real-world recommendations for remaining relevant in a dynamic market.
It’s important to stress that Avid Connect isn’t Avid preaching to the world. We are extremely lucky to have a customer base that leads the way in creative and enterprise innovation, and who are prepared to give up their valuable time – on a weekend, no less – to freely share a wealth of experience and wisdom. The many sessions that make up Avid Connect will all be peer-led, focusing on moving forward in a time of great change. Hence the theme for this year: Innovation in Action.
Avid Connect 2018 will be a thought-provoking, future-shaping experience which we hope will give everyone attending the insights they need to go bigger, go faster and go farther. It’s just three days, but a year’s worth of inspiration.
