Pro Tools gives us so many options to speed up mixing. One of those options is the ability to color tracks. It is so much easier to spot the tracks you want to work on when you have a stark visual cue, such as, differing colors. You could have ‘Drums’ bright green, ‘Guitars’ yellow, ‘Lead Vocals’ pink, and so on. You can also make use of the Default Track Color settings in Preferences, and the options of the Color Palette, like HOLD, to speed up the track coloring process.
Color your tracks in Pro Tools to quickly recognize the type of tracks you want to work on. When you trash preferences, you will need to reset your color options.
