Underworld's Rick Smith on Pro Tools and Electronic Music Creation

Behind the Scenes

Rick Smith, of legendary British electronic group Underworld, talks about how the technology for electronic music creation has changed over the years. Rick has relied on Pro Tools in his studio since 1999 to help craft the music that he and Underworld are famous for. Rick has also been working with director Danny Boyle since ‘Trainspotting’ and discusses the Olympics Opening Ceremony and the film score for the thriller ‘Trance’.

“Using the same platform as people you are working with in different physical locations, home studios, bedroom recording, the do it yourself approach, and these amazing facilities like Abbey Road, what links that process is Pro Tools.”
