In my new role as the VP of Product Management for Audio at Avid, I welcomed the opportunity to serve as a liaison on the Audio Sub Committee (a branch of the Products and Solutions Advisory Council of the ACA). Since its launch in September 2013, the ACA has seen much growth and deep collaboration between its members and other individuals at Avid, such as myself.
I am pleased to say that the Products and Solutions Advisory Council specifically, has seen much progress, which includes: The creation of Audio, Video, and Asset Management and Storage Sub Committee’s to provide forums for deeper conversations with Avid, contributions to Avid’s hardware roadmap strategy and decision on partnerships, direct involvement in product launches, and prioritization of camera formats. The group continues to remains focused on: Highlighting areas of need for product updates and modernization, prioritizing pain points around certain products with regard to workflow’s, and discussing improvements to asset management archiving and reporting.
In collaborating with ACA leaders, we look to all of our customers to represent the voice that Avid should listen to in receiving direction on product roadmaps and new product releases.
In collaborating with ACA leaders, we look to all of our customers to represent the voice that Avid should listen to in receiving direction on product roadmaps and new product releases. As such, the Council has been listening to multiple feedback channels for the product fixes and features customers want most, taking into consideration requests from Avid Support Forums, IdeaScale, Beta Programs, and conversations with Avid product managers . We are currently organizing this feedback and will welcome direct input from the greater ACA community. The community’s voice will impact the Councils final recommendations to Avid for future product roadmaps.
Want to learn how you can get involved? Register for the ACA leadership webinar, coming to you live from Q3 meetings in Amsterdam on September 10th. See myself, along with a few ACA leaders from the Products and Solutions Advisory Council in action, sharing insights on what ACA leaders have been working on and where the ACA needs your input to inform Avid’s future strategy.
Remember, if you can’t tune into the webinar, there is always a chance to join us again, in person, at the annual gathering of the ACA, Avid Connect 2016. Avid Connect, the world’s most visionary gathering of media and industry professionals, is a key opportunity for ACA members to see what’s next for the industry, to strengthen personal networks, and to learn more about the impact the ACA is having on the industry. This year’s event will be held at the Wynn Las Vegas, April 15-17, 2016.
