Did you know that you can use the industry-leading pitch and time stretching algorithm from zplane seamlessly within Avid Pro Tools?
zplane’s technology is used by musicians and producers on countless hits, often without them even realizing it. Used by brands such as Akai, Ableton, East West, and Native Instruments to power the time and pitch stretching in their hugely popular instruments and applications, zplane is the silent partner in your productions.
zplane was founded in January 2000 in Berlin, Germany, by Tim Flohrer, Dr Alexander Lerch and Martin Schwerdtfeger and is a winner of the Innovation Award 2000 for Multimedia Technology granted by the German ministry of economics and technology.
zplane explain their philosophy. “We focus on intelligent signal processing solutions like artefact-free time stretching and pitch shifting and on music analysis technology, dealing with the extraction of high-level musical information from the music signal like tempo, rhythm, melody and key. ”
Working closely with the development team at Avid zplane’s algorithm is now seamlessly integrated into Pro Tools and following the release of Pro Tools 12.8.1 can be used as the default engine for the multi-tool TC/E option. Pro Tools users simply need to purchase and install the zplane elastiquéAAX plug-in. It’s available on the Avid store at shop.avid.com.
élastiqueAAX is zplane’s time and pitch manipulation plugin for Pro Tools. It uses the élastiquePro V3 time-stretching and pitch shifting engine which is integrated into numerous DAWs and satisfies millions of users around the world.
The plug-in can also be used in AAX AudioSuite mode when you need to process smaller parts of the audio, for example when fitting dialogue or manipulating foley and FX. It is also the ideal tool for video and film frame rate conversion.
The advantages of using zplane élastiqueAAX are two-fold; firstly the time and pitch stretching algorithm offers better audio results, inferior algorithms can affect transients and phase relationships when processing multitrack audio. Secondly, élastiqueAAX offers a much faster workflow. In a recent review ADR Editor Alan Sallabank wrote for Pro Tools Expert, he said: “Had this been around last year, I could have saved four days (96hrs) of staring at progress bars and then not being totally happy with the result. I now actually look forward to multi-frame-rate jobs, as I no longer have to sacrifice hours of processing, or have a negative impact on the end sonic quality.”
elastiquéAAX is just one plug-in in a range that offers some of the best tools for Pro Tools music and post users. They include plug-ins to manipulate time and pitch is great ways such as reTune and vielklang and plug-ins to help with loudness related tasks in the form of ppmBatch and PPMulator.
zplane’s Martin Schwerdtfeger’s comments “zplane are delighted to be working more closely with Avid to bring powerful tools to Pro Tools users.”
