If you missed the December 2014 deadline to get your Media Composer license on an Upgrade and Support plan, you may be considering your options concerning your editing software. Avid would like to propose an answer: you can still buy an Upgrade and Support plan for your Media Composer license.
Due to the popularity of the program—and the fact that we know a lot of users weren’t able to buy in time—Avid is offering a limited-time opportunity to purchase an annual Upgrade & Support plan for your Media Composer. Regardless of when your previous plan expired—or even if you never had one at all—you can buy a plan from now until March 31, 2015 for $499 US MSRP. If you miss the March deadline, you’re still in luck: From April 1, 2015 until May 15, 2015, you can buy a plan for $699 US MSRP.
“Regardless of when your previous plan expired—or even if you never had one at all—you can buy a plan from now until March 31, 2015 for $499 US MSRP.”
These plans get you the same world-class Support and valuable Software Updates as the $299 US MSRP plans offered in 2014, and when your plan is up for renewal next year, you can renew at the standard $299 US MSRP price.
If you receive an Activation Code with your plan, you’ll need to redeem the code in your Master Avid Account on or before May 31, 2015 to ensure it can be applied to your Media Composer license. Otherwise, you’ll need to buy a new license of Media Composer in order to receive software updates.
It’s not too late to get access to the latest features and upgrades for Media Composer. Since the release of Media Composer 8—which introduced Subscription licensing and the requirement to be on a support plan to receive upgrades—we have released five software updates. That’s over sixty new features and functions in just 10 months. With an Upgrade & Support plan for your Media Composer license, you’ll get access to all of those features, plus everything else we release in the next 12 months, with the dedicated, professional resources to support it.
